At Heartwood Community Cafe, our vision is to create a community that nourishes the spirit of social justice and liberation.
We believe that everyone should be welcome at the table and that collaboration is key to full bellies and full hearts. From community building through events, to showcasing local artists tackling social issues, to serving up delicious fresh, local dishes for the people. We work towards an accessible and welcoming social hub defined by our community, which means building and strengthening relationships with the Heartwood Community and the broader Mount Pleasant neighbourhood are important aspects to how our story can continue to grow.

Our Values
To actively build and bridge communities that focus on:
- Solidarity building among marginalized communities, such as Indigenous, migrant, LGBTQAI2, people with disabilities, and youth communities.
- Collaborating with local artists, activists, and grassroots organizations to raise and amplify marginalized voices through community events and exhibitions.
- Using arts as a vehicle for change.
- Serving locally fresh and seasonally delicious ingredients in all our dishes.
