At Heartwood, we believe that full bellies are the key ingredients to stronger communities. Soup for the People is our community supported menu that welcomes everyone to Heartwood’s table. It is guided by the following principles:
Food is accessible No contribution is too little or too much. If you’re able to share more than our suggested donation, please do! It means more soup will be available for everyone. If you aren’t able to give back financially, you are still and always welcome. We ask you to pay it forward to the communities that you are in. We don’t believe in charity, we believe in community collaboration. Food nourishes caring communities Our Soup for the People menu is made with locally fresh and seasonally sourced ingredients. Just like community building, we are intentional with each and every one of our delicious recipes. Food brings us together With social justice at the center of our mission, for many of us at Heartwood, the kitchen table is where connections happen and where movements begin. As we continue our journey for justice, let us not forget to take the time to share a meal and celebrate. |
